Fridsro Children's Home

The Children at Fridsro live in units of 10 with a house parent so that we can give as much attention and individual help to our children as possible. Fridsro itself is located on 40 acres of beautiful but remote land in the jungles of Sri Lanka. Our wonderful child sponsors enable us to provide our kids with the basic neccesities but we have other needs that need sponsorship. We believe our kids should have more than just the basics, we want them to thrive and grow, have access to the best education, safe and optimal living environment, fully trained caregivers and safe transportation. Supporting the children's home as a whole enables us to provide this for our children.

Other needs for the Children's Home in 2010

Besides the above mentioned needs there are other, more specific, needs at the Children's Home.

Closets and Lockers
We need to install new closets and lockers for each of the children so they can have their belongings and treasures safe and private. Your donation to this will give them a better living environment.


Dorm Renovations
Our dorms were built with the miraculous provision of God as described in the book "Journey of Faith". However, they are old, most of them built over 30 years ago, and need renovations in several places, retaining walls need to be built, the roofs need to be made water-tight to protect us from the monsoon rains and walls need re-painting. Your donation will enable our children to live in a safe and pleasant environment that reflects the peace and beauty of their natural surroundings.


Beds
We need new beds for our children who are under 5 years of age. Currently the kids sleep on bunk beds but we have many kids under the age of 5 for whom bunk beds are not the optimal sleeping arrangement. We would like to be able for these precious little ones to sleep in cozy, warm beds that are safe and secure for them. Your donation will enable us to provide a place for these kids who have been through so much at such a young age to sleep and dream in peace and security.
